If there is one thing Stones Throw knows, it is how much we owe the greater Bellingham community. Because our existence was, and still is, a team effort. From all the friends and volunteers who help us put on our Block Parties, to all the different people who had a hand in building the brewery and taproom itself.

We also know how important it is to be involved back with the community, which is why we’re excited to announce our newest upcoming nonprofit project… Behind the Bus!

Behind the Bus

Partnering with our friends at Outbound, Fairhaven’s outdoor lifestyle shop, we’ve been working hard to clear up the small backyard garden space attached to Outbound and behind the downtown Fairhaven Fish and Chips Bus. This space will contain one of our sleek portable bars, and will be utilized to raise money for local nonprofits.

The first ‘Behind the Bus’ fundraiser is slated for the weekend of July 21-23, from 3-9pm each day, and will benefit the Fairhaven Park Trail Project put on by Recreation Northwest. 100% of all beer proceeds from the Behind the Bus pop-up beer garden will go towards the trail work in rebuilding and maintaining trails in the 100-Acre Woods outside of Fairhaven Park.

If all this sounds familiar to you, it’s because, well, it is! We’re dedicated to continuing our partnership with Recreation Northwest, and as part of the first ‘Behind the Bus’ event, we’re re-releasing the Fairhaven Park TrAle Pale Ale. And just like last time, a dollar from every pint sold of the TrAle will go towards the project as well! Stay tuned for more information on Behind the Bus!

Stones Throw, Outbound, and Recreation Northwest all can’t wait for the first ‘Behind the Bus’ fundraising weekend, which coincides with the July 22nd Fairhaven Steampunk Festival!

In other community news, stay tuned for some potential upcoming fall season Block Parties. And thanks to everyone who stopped by during such an awesome Block Party season this past spring! And huge thanks to our volunteers - we can’t do it without you. Really. We can’t. You all rock!

…. And so did our Ski to Sea team. Stones Throw won the Mixed Competitive division. Nice work, everyone!

We’ll be on the Bellingham Bay BREWers Cruise on August 16, with Boundary Bay and Scuttlebutt Brewing. Book your tickets now, because they go quickly!
